It really is a unique way to see the city and being in the side car provides a different view and excellent way of taking photo's. I also liked the fact that we were supporting a local person who was charging a very reasonable price. In fact this was the only land tour we did as it was 55 Euro's for 2 people. If we had been in Sao Miguel for longer I think we would have booked another trip to a different destination or just let Pacio run free
The coolest way to go around the city! Pacio Will be your favourite tour guide, for sure! 🙃 Such an awesome moto, gives you that "old school" vibe, feeling the wind on your face and seeing the best views of Ponta Delgada!
Wow! what a fantastic way to appreciate the beauty and stunning views of wonderful San Miguel island. Pacio and his reliable Dnper 650cc motorbike and sidecar combination picked us up from our hotel took us along the old coast road to Lagoa, then Caloura harbour pointing out places of interest like the beaches, ceramics factory, pineapple plantations and great fish and seafood restaurants to go back to another time to eat. We could stop if we wanted to have a closer look but we just wanted to ride! On the tour we saw loads of Yves heart murals which are painted all over the island; it had become a hobby of ours to see how many we could spot on our travels during our weeks stay, and we saw the most on this one. On the way back Pacio was more than happy to drop us off at one of the city gardens Jardim Garden Antonio Borges. We were grinning from ear to ear the whole tour! Great value for the money.
Our Sidewheel Tour with Pacio was one of the best private tours we have taken anywhere in the world, and we have been on many! We took the three hour tour, and the it could not have been better. Pacio Is a native of the area, and he has both cultural and historical knowledge. I would never have imagined it, but one of the highlights of our trip was a visit to a pineapple farm. Pineapples in the Azores grow very differently in places like Hawaii. Here, they are grown entirely in greenhouses through a labor-intensive process that produces small and sweet pineapples with virtually no core. Pacio also took us to a number of small coastline villages that were stunningly beautiful. It was great to see the how locals enjoy the coastline, complete with public swimming pools and even a public gym overlooking the ocean. We cannot recommend the three-hour tour highly enough, although I’m sure any length would be great. When you take the tour, remember to ask for some restaurant recommendations. We loved the place Pacio sent us to. For those who are concerned about touring with n a sidecar, know that we never felt safer. In fact, although I had thought I would ride in the sidecar compartment for fear of being on the back of a motorcycle, Pacio was such a great driver that we took turns being in the sidecar and being on the back of the motorcycle. You get completely different views from the different seats. It was simply wonderful. We will do it again when we go back, and thanks to Pacio’s tour, we intend to visit the Azores for a longer period of time. At least a week!
